The Williamson family is once again sponsoring a football league to benefit
the
Charles H. Williamson Memorial Book Grant.
Each year, for the past 12 years, a $500 scholarship is given to one Wellsville
High School graduate and will continue to be given yearly to that student
as long as they remain enrolled in college. At present, there are five active
grants being given. The Alumni Association is responsible for choosing the
recipient with the Williamson family having no control over who is chosen.
*Past recipients are listed below.
One of the ways the Williamson family raises money for this book grant is
through the football league fundraiser. In its third year, the league has
been a successful source of revenue for making these grants possible. So
why not join in and have some fun while helping others!
Prizes are awarded to the four division champs as well as an over-all grand
prize winner. If you are interested in having lots of fun by participating,
please go to the
Charles H. Williamson
Memorial Football League
site to sign up.
Charles "Chuckie" Williamson grew up in Wellsville and was stricken with
a rare desease called Fredricks Ataxia. He passed away in 1993 at the young
age of 28.
